I absolutely fell head over heels with this book.
The best thing about this book was that every single detail of the story was richly described that made me feel like I was a character who was adventuring along with Eva.
I just can’t wait for the sequel!

  2. Apparently this novel is supposed to be a futuristic version of the Wizard of Oz and after some consideration, I can see the similarities. Eva is being raised by a robot in an underground capsule. When their home is attacked, she flees into the previously forbidden world above ground where nothing is as she has been led to expect. Marvellous creatures with unexpected powers and the gadgets she has been trained to use help Eva travel to a place where she hopes to find more of her own kind. However she is being pursued and needs the help of friends old and new to escape. The ending was neat and the detailed story-telling compelling but for the most part the plot was a little predictable.

  3. Oh dear, this book was definitely not meant for me. I thought that the plot was far too predictable and I didn’t feel that the author did a particualrly good job of building up suspense and tension ( the reason for that being that there were too many things happening in quick succession. I also didn’t feel that the introduction to this book was extremely good. I thought the writer left a lot of questions unanswered which can be a good tactic, but here, this writing style only made me more able to put this book down and pick another one up
