  1. This was a truly inspirational read. Jessica is a member of her high school athletics team and looks set to go places as a running star. The story starts with her waking in hospital having been involved in a bus accident resulting in the loss of the bottom half of one of her legs.
As she comes to terms with her circumstances and deals with her grief, anger, embarrassment and changed ambitions, she is reminded that a positive outlook and a good support network can indeed offer surprisingly optimistic possibilities.
The pace of the story was excellent and Jessica came across as a remarkably ordinary young woman forced to deal with an extraordinary situation. Very uplifting.

  2. So inspirational!
As a result of a bus accident, a teenage girl loses her legs in a BK (below-the-knee) amputation. This story follows this girl as she learns to cope with the trauma and re-learn to run once again on her track team. I believe we all need to read more books like “The Running Dream” – it’s message of ‘per aspera ad astra’ may be considered cliche, but I found the author’s style of writing and direction was fresh and fun.
