  1. THE LAST SUMMER OF THE DEATH WARRIORS
A beautifully written story about two misfit boys in an orphanage. The meaning of life and reasons to live are the main themes of this novel. Character dynamics makes this story especially intriguing – while one boy is sick and fights for his life, the other refuses to believe living is worthwhile. There is a bit of a morbid theme in this book, but the message is somewhat optimistic, and relevant to every person. As a person who often ponders on life and death, I found this book to be especially enjoyable, as my previous opinions changed while the characters’ evolved.
