  1. It helps when reading this book to know a little about the Brothers Grimm. Elizabeth is having a hard time at her new school but on submitting a project about her favourite fairy story, 12 dancing princesses, she is offered a position at the New York Material Repository. This fantastic library contains artefacts as well as books and includes a special collection of items referred to in the Grimm fairy tales. These include the mirror from Snow White and the seven league boots.
After a successful start, Elizabeth is permitted access to the collection and uncovers a plot to use up the magic in the items by replacing them with copies. With her new friends she determines to discover what is going on.
The descriptions of the repository are fantastic and some of the gadgets in use are hugely enjoyable and imaginative. Recommended.

  2. i tottally loved this boook!! it was so good!! im definitely voting for this one. the plot itself was so creative and imaginative and something i would never have thought about. it was so easy to visualize what was happening in the story and i couldnt put the book down once i started reading it. in fact, it was so enjoyable that i read it twice.

  3. This book kept me reading! i usually go to bed when my mom tells me to, but I couldn’t stop reading. I like magic and that kind of mysterious stuff, but I also like some humor, and this book had both. Even if you don’t know who the Grimm Brothers are, this book tells you plenty. It is so well written that I actually thought I was the main character! i recommend this book to the kids who like magic and that kind of stuff. Sorry I keep saying magic and that kind of stuff. I just can’t describe this wonderful book!

  4. This book is magical. I really enjoyed this book, and I wish there was a sequel…
This has both magic and adventure in this book.
I love how the author gives us every little detail to help us understand more what the main character, Elizabeth, is feeling.

    I also LOVE Marc’s younger brother! 🙂
