  1. What a beautiful book! it took me a while to get used to the poetry, but after 20 to 30 pages, I couldn’t stop anymore. I was in the main character’s head and I was in Japan in the summer, and in a thriller…Great!! I am sure that a lot of girls at my school will like it!

A Japanese-American girl recounts her summer with her relatives in Japan after a family crisis. The free-versed poems that the story was completely comprised of gave a natural, easy-to-read flow. I usually don’t like authors who incorporate foreign languages into their writing, but this time I found the Japanese vocabulary contributed well to the rhythm of the poems.
