This was an interesting story, initially about two girls who are cousins and best friends. As part of a school project on scientific hoaxes, they pretend to be identical twins. However, when the hoax is revealed, nobody believes them because the evidence is too compelling. A film of their “scam” is posted on Youtube and another girl sees herself in the two girls featured. As the story unfolds as to why and how this is the case we are introduced to two of the most awful adults, parents of one of the girls. They are selfish, materialistic and have no sense of parental responsibility and their daughter is only saved by a lovely grandmother.
The precept for the story was great but I felt that the novel lacked real substance and it may have made a better short story.
I have just read this book and I think it may be the best books I have read so far. The story is a cliff-hanger and I couldn’t seem to let the book down. After I read this book, I kept on wishing it was a series so I could find out out what the girls would do after they found out they were triplets. I would recommend this book to anybody who loves realistic fiction/mystery/suspense books because it really makes you predict what will happen next and it is just an enjoyable book to read for fun.
I thought this book was excellent. It was well-written and it has a good plot. I enjoyed the story a lot and couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. The end was interesting and I really do hope that Caroline B. Cooney writes a sequel to this. I will probably vote for this book.
I didn’t like this book. There was never any sort of suspense in the plot. This is shown extremely clearly by the fact that for about 100 pages in the middle of the book, the characters just keep doing the same thing again and again. This book did have a satisfactory ending, but the middle was so monotonous that it wasn’t really worth the read. On the whole, this book could easily be compared to a Toyota Prius. It gives you what you want (a story), but it does it in a very uninteresting way, and, It is rather pointless when you consider the fact that you could have something much better.
